Deep Plane Facelift for California Patients

Travel logistics, border crossing, and follow-up planning for patients from San Diego, Los Angeles, and across California.

Proximity Advantage

Tijuana sits directly across the border from San Diego. Patients from Southern California can typically drive to Hospital Cyntar in under two hours from San Diego, three to four hours from Los Angeles, and access domestic flights from Northern California into San Diego International Airport (SAN).

Border Crossing

US citizens require a valid passport or passport card. The Ariel Center coordinates ground transportation from San Diego and can advise on pedestrian versus vehicle crossing based on wait times. SENTRI/Ready Lane enrollment can shorten return crossings.

Typical Stay in Tijuana

  • Pre-op consultation and testing: 1 day
  • Surgery and immediate recovery at Hospital Cyntar: 1–2 nights
  • Recovery hotel with nursing support: 5–7 nights
  • Post-op follow-up visits before travel home: 1–2 visits

Follow-Up in California

Because California is close by, in-person follow-up visits are practical for the 1-month and 3-month checks. Telehealth follow-up is available for patients who prefer virtual review. Local primary care coordination is recommended for medical clearance and post-operative monitoring.

Insurance and Payment

Elective cosmetic surgery is generally not covered by US insurance regardless of location. The Ariel Center provides written all-inclusive quotes for California patients. See our cost page.
