Flight Access
Direct flights from YVR, YYZ, YYC, and YUL to San Diego International Airport (SAN) are seasonally available; connections through LAX, SFO, or PHX are common year-round. Vancouver patients often have the shortest travel time. Total door-to-door time from most Canadian hubs is 6–10 hours.
Documentation
A valid Canadian passport is required. Mexico does not currently require a tourist visa for Canadian citizens for short medical visits, but confirm current entry requirements before travel. Travel medical insurance covering evacuation is recommended.
Payment and Currency
The Ariel Center provides quotes in USD. Wire transfers, cards, and financing options are typically accepted. Canadian patients should account for currency conversion when comparing costs to Canadian private clinics. See our cost page.
Recommended Stay
- Pre-op day: consultation and testing
- Surgery and hospital overnight: 1–2 nights
- Recovery hotel with nursing: 5–7 nights
- Total away from home: approximately 8–10 days
Follow-Up in Canada
Telehealth follow-up is available at 1 month and 3 months. Coordination with your family physician for wound checks and any post-operative concerns is recommended. Provincial health plans generally do not cover elective cosmetic surgery regardless of location.
