Flight Access
Direct and one-stop flights from DFW, IAH, AUS, and SAT to San Diego International Airport (SAN) are widely available. Total door-to-door travel time from most Texas hubs is 4–7 hours. From SAN, the border crossing into Tijuana adds 30–90 minutes depending on wait times; the Ariel Center coordinates ground transport.
Recommended Stay
- Arrive at least 1 day before surgery for pre-op testing and consultation
- Surgery day at Hospital Cyntar with overnight monitoring
- Recovery hotel with nursing support: 5–7 nights typical for deep plane facelift
- Total time away from home: approximately 8–10 days
Return-Home Considerations
Air travel is generally cleared around post-op day 7 in an uncomplicated recovery, and only after clinical review. Aisle seating, hydration, and compression stockings are recommended for the return flight. A companion for the trip home is strongly advised.
Follow-Up
Follow-up at 1 month and 3 months can be conducted via telehealth for out-of-state patients, with in-person review if the patient plans a return trip. Local primary care coordination for wound checks and suture-related concerns is recommended.
