Self-Evaluation
A short structured prompt to think through before requesting a consultation.
This is not a diagnostic tool. It is a set of questions patients typically consider before requesting a consultation. Answering "yes" to most of these does not confirm candidacy; answering "no" does not rule it out. Only a qualified surgeon evaluating you in person can determine candidacy.
Anatomy & Concerns
- Do you notice descent of the midface, jowling along the jawline, or laxity of the neck?
- Have injectables (fillers, neuromodulators) stopped fully addressing your concern?
- Are your primary concerns about tissue descent rather than volume loss alone?
Health & Lifestyle
- Is your general health stable, with any chronic conditions well-controlled?
- Are you a non-smoker, or willing and able to stop for the pre- and post-operative window your surgeon requires?
- Is your weight stable and are you not planning major weight change in the next 12 months?
- Do you have a caregiver available during the first days of recovery?
Expectations
- Do you understand that all surgery carries risk, and that individual outcomes vary?
- Are your goals rejuvenation and natural repositioning — rather than changing your fundamental appearance?
- Can you accommodate roughly 2–3 weeks of visible-recovery downtime?
Not a Candidate?
If several of the above are "no", surgery may not be the right step right now. Non-surgical alternatives are discussed at /deep-plane-facelift-vs-fillers and /deep-plane-facelift-vs-thread-lifts. A consultation can still be useful to hear an evidence-based recommendation.
